We girls wanted a nice evening out. So Michelle, Fung and I decided to try out the Lorong Kurau area! We were so bored of normal old Telawi, BV, BSC. We knew Bakar was there, next to a string of new restaurants. We stumbled upon a new restaurant called Barat. The menu outside showed a degustation menu of fine vegetarian food. We were already like hmmmm we're hungry, poor and in the mood for GOOD FOOD. Vegetarian? Set? RM88 for vegetables? But we were persuaded by the VERY persuasive chef to try the food. We were totally cynical at first I'm NOT going to lie.

The Daily Cut

Sam and I stumbled on this yummy healthy restaurant. All you health junkies/closet health junkies will understand. The moment I saw protein/complex carb/supplements I was roped in. How could one not? Even though I knew its essentially just meat, carbs, veggies. But the former just sounds so much healthier.... Literally everything we love on a plate: runny egg, avocado, steak, chewy brown rice (well I love this hehe), and cherry tomatoes. SO YUM.

RuYi & Lyn

Ruyi & Lyn is innovative, eccentric and tantalising. Normally these adjectives, in my opinion, are thrown around quite loosely. But Ruyi truly showcases those qualities. Their food is really interesting. The Ruyi Sushi below incorporates Malaysian and Thai cuisine into a Japanese dish. The Truffle Fried Rice and Green Tea Rice are also dishes I haven't seen much in restaurants.
